~ Currently studying "The Thinking Body- The Feeling Mind" movement therapy technique with Dr. Linda Lack
What can students expect from your class? Mindful instruction; very subtle and specific movements that address common misalignments and recurring injuries; flowing movement that links breath to body, expands range of motion, and builds strength effectively.
Why Yoga? Yoga puts us intimately in touch with the nature of our bodies, the power of our breath, and allows our physical being to come into alignment. When that alignment occurs, we experience freedom and expansion in all areas of our lives.
My Inspiration(s)...Ever changing and expanding, but in this present moment: Dr. Linda Lack, TKV Desikachar, Anapanasati meditation, The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and The Seat of the Soul, by Gary Zukav
Why InYoga? The physical space: most beautiful practice space in the city and the best
bathrooms!
The energetic space: Julie and Kelly and the entire staff have created an incredibly supportive environment where teachers are free to be creative and true to their path; and students feel safe and inspired to explore their practice and open themselves to the magic of yoga.
What's on your playlist right now? I haven't listened to music in 2 months! I'm dying to explore the candyland of iTunes, but generally, the tunes are very mellow and calming in my class.
What has been your "Best Ah-Ha Moment" as a student and as a teacher? As a student: that I have a long torso and have to engage my abdominals in a completely different way in order to keep my back safe and my pelvis aligned with my body.
As a teacher: Like with everything in life, I am most effective when I am being the most true to my practice and my philosophy on yoga.
